Caption Advocating for Economic and Social Justice in Africa, the 2nd documentary series on the Makers and Shapers of African Development, highlights the activities of the Third World Network-Africa(TWN-Africa) around the continent since its formation in 1994. TWN is an organization engaged in Pan-African research and advocacy on economic and social equity. Their work spans many areas including gender and economic reforms in Africa; mining and development; trade policies; regional integration within the global economy; and climate justice. Dr. Yao Graham, the co-ordinator of the organization, discusses the role of TWN-Africa in trying to reverse the exploitation of the continent (a primary exporter of primary goods) through unfair trade policies and unfavourable agreements between member States and multinational corporations.
